You can prevent specific articles from being collected in our database and thus being recommended in your widget in a few ways.
Add data-spklw-private = "1" to the widget tag on the article page.
<div data-spklw-widget="widget-1234567890" data-spklw-private="1"></div>
That will prevent the article from being collected.
Do not add the widget tags to pages you do not want to be collected and recommended.
We only collect pages where our widget is present.
- Configuring scraper rules not to collect certain articles. For that we need to find something unique to identify those pages.
Unique URL’s: Articles on a separate section ex: site.com/campaigns/, site.com/sports/ or site.com/category?tag=campaign.
Meta tags: We ask the Publisher to add a tag like ex: <meta property="article:section" content="adv" />. Or any other unique identifier to pin point articles and exclude them from the widget.
Find any unique identifier in the code: Last but not least our developers can have a look at your code to make sure we can exclude the content using different identifiers like labels etc. (note this could be a bad solution if the html code is changed).
Please note that once an article has been collected in our database, it will be shown in the widget.
In any case make sure to inform us via firstname.lastname@example.org if you need content to be excluded, so that we can find the best solution.
