After content is collected from you site we can filter it in different ways.
The first filtering option implies that the publisher adds extra code to the widget tag. All other filtering options have to be implemented by Strossle.
Option 1: One widget, different sources
You can use the same widget on different pages and display content from different sources (top or sub domain).
This is suitable for big networks where you want the same widget design on several subdomains, but just want to show different content for each subdomain.
This filtering can be done by adding a ‘source’ code in the div tag and has to be done by the publisher.
Example domain 1:
<div data-spklw-widget="widget-1234567890" data-spklw-source="strossle.com"> </ div>
<script src="//widgets.sprinklecontent.com/v2/sprinkle.js" async> </ script>
Example domain 2:
<div data-spklw-widget="widget-1234567890" data-spklw-source="blog.strossle.com"> </ div>
<script src="//widgets.sprinklecontent.com/v2/sprinkle.js "async> </ script>
A live example of a network using this method can be seen on 24malmo.se and 24kristianstad.se. Both sites use the same widget on their article pages, but they show only articles from their own domain.
Please note that statistics can not be separated for the different (sub)domains since only one widget is used.
Option 2: Filtering by creating multiple widgets
If your site has multiple subdomains, we can create a separate widget for each subdomain and display content from one single subdomain, multiple, or all subdomains simultaneously.
For this filtering method we can separate the statistics for each subdomain.
Option 3: Filtering sources
We can define what sources are allowed to be displayed in the widget. This can be one or multiple sources (top and/or sub domains).
Example: If your network consists of multiple domains, you might want to send traffic between your websites. We can configure which domains will be displayed in your widget.
We can also exclude one or multiple source domains (top or sub domains) from displaying in the widget.
Option 4: Custom filters
In some cases we can filter content based on elements in url or metatags in the code.
Please note that this filter only works for ‘Latest’ and ‘Most shared’ content.
More information about content types
Statistics can not be separated for different (sub)domains.
In some cases the best solution is to combine different filtering types. Sometimes we use separate widgets for the biggest sites in a network and use same widget with script filter for the rest.
